Raspberry Pi Strip Chart Data Logger. Leave a reply. I recently converted a beverage cooler to a kegerator. The Arduino interfaced to the temp sensor and then output the data via the serial port to the raspberry pi which ran similar plotting code as shown below. Logging incoming serial data using PuTTY. When you have problems getting a device over the serial port to work, or in cases where you want your own plugin to be developed by us, our support desk will sometimes ask to log some data from your serial port. This document is created to show you step by step instructions on how to accomplish this.

I am a technical hobbyist doing data collection for Radio Astronomy. I have published plans on my website for building a simple analog to digital converter that broadcasts the data once every second to a standard serial port. The data can be captured using HyperTerminal, saved to a file, and graphed (after the fact) using Excel.
What would be really nice is a small windows based utility that grabs the data from the serial port and plots it on the screen in real time. I have found some complicated programs with huge overheads that can do this, but nothing simple.
I'm guessing that this would be a great application for FreeBASIC and I'm sure the hobbyist community would find it helpful, and I would post it free on my website.Data
Does anyone have an interest in working on this, or know of a similar code project that might be close I could modify? Thank you for your help.
